Anniversarating

 

We enjoyed our 12^th anniversary at Hippo Lodge in the Kafue National Park.  It was a wonderful vacation/anniversary/retreat for us and we were so thankful for the three families that took 1 or 2 of our five children so we could have this getaway…  There are many memories that were created including seeing a large male Leopard walking on the road during a night drive, watching a pride of seven lions (no lying -  two of them even laid down six meters from our car!)  and going for a bushwalk and seeing lion/hippo/leopard tracks. We watched the Kafue river roll gently as we read, talked, played cards and enjoyed quiet like we haven’t heard in quite awhile.  Steph saw her favorite tree – a baobab tree – on the way home. I got me in it so you can see how huge this tree really is.  It’s back to life for us now, and yet we were so thankful for our little getaway…
