A picture of the Kanyama school that I will be visiting and probably working with some in Africa. Crazy that we will be meeting these kids in only 10 days!!!!

My four girls

Kamryn was finally reunited with her horse, Fifi, this past week. If I had a quarter for the amount of time Kamryn asked if she could see "her" horse, talked about "her" horse, missed "her" horse, or thought about "her" horse, I probably could have bought the horse for her. It was so cute to see her run around the ring, groom her, talk to her and love on her... It was sweet.

sharing with the seniors...

I spoke to the seniors (50+ in age) at Crossroads Bible Church this morning, showing my video and then answering questions. After it was over, Kamryn sort of whispered to me, "Mom said we were going to speak to the junior highers, but they don't really look like junior highers." I looked at her and said, "No, I just spoke to the seniors." She paused for a moment and then said, "They look a little older than high schoolers."

so sweet

Julia: when I was little I used to watch Dora with milk in my cereal. That was a fun time ago.

Pic of the Week VIII

If you really want to see the pic this week, you will have to follow this link to our AliveinAfrica blog!

Our three year old...

Julia likes to talk in exageration and when she does, it is pretty funny... It is often hard to understand, so we thought we would translate:

I caaaaannnnnnnnnn't staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand it! - Whenever she is frustrated beyond belief, she will wail these words.

I am sweaty, I AM SWEATY, I AAAMMMMMM SWEEAAATTTTYYYYYY!!!!!- Whenever she gets hot from being outside. She doesn't like hot, and so we haven't really told her it is hot in Africa, yet. We are hoping she grows out of it.

We can't really help translate this one. If you look closely you will see Kyla and Lucy. Kyla is her little friend down the block and Lucy is their dog. She really loves both of them and whenever she has to leave, and especially if she is tired, she goes into this tirade where you can barely make out Kyla and Lucy. Lucky for her, we see beyond her 3 year old cries for independence and comfort, and love her very much!!!!

Sensory overload

While at the beach for our family reunion, Julia made some observations:

She held up the shell (the kind you can hear the ocean with) and said, "Look Daddy! You hold this up to your ear so you can see the ocean!"
