Bradyn called 911
The subject line ruins the suspense but I thought it was a catchy title. I, Steve, came home from work and amidst the noises and actions that were occurring, I hear Stephanie tell Bradyn to please not play with the phone. Then I hear some crying and a door close and Stephanie telling me that Bradyn called 911. Bradyn is in her room, feeling sad. I then see that we have a voice message on our email (the coolest thing about vonage-voice message in your email.) and it is the 911 dispatch calling saying that someone in our house is using 911 and to please stop doing this. Well, Bradyn overheard this and came walking in. She had a little look of terror on her eyes, and I thought I would use this to teach her a lesson. I replayed the message and told her that she shoud never play with the phone. She then burst into tears and said, "I am not going to jail am I, daddy? They are not going to take me to jail, are they. I am sorry. I don't want to go to jail." Big tears, big crying and my strategy changed from discipling to reasurring that no robbers were going to take her to jail. As we snuggled, later, she said, "I just can't get this out of my head." Needless to say, I think she learned her lesson.
Bradyn is not a bird
Today, Bradyn in an effort to not be tagged leaped off of the jungle gym, a good 5 feet off the ground and did a flying face plant onto the ground. After she landed, she got up to keep running and then in a daze realized that she should cry. And cry she did. She looked as if she might have gotten a minor concussion, her face covered in dirt and her hand scratched up. We didn't really know how she had fallen off. Tonight as we were talking about it, we asked if she was pushed. She said, "yeah." But, Kamryn was thinking hard in her head, and she started asking questions. And then she realized that no she wasn't pushed, but that she was trying to avoid getting tagged. Tonight Stephanie finalized the picture. Kamryn was on the sliding pole, Bradyn was behind her waiting to slide down. Bradyn didn't want to get tagged so she just, uh, flew. And, oh, she didn't get caught.

The allen ladies memoirs
Tonight I was getting Julia ready for bed, putting her diaper on, putting on her jammies and putting some lotion on her. SHe was singing to herself this cute little song, and when I picked her up, she kept her singing going, and she just looked at me with this cute little look, almost a flirting look. Those moments are so hard to capture in words, but I thought I would at least write it down so I could at least remember it. SHe was so cute on the bed too. She was doing this chomping motion with her mouth.

Humble Pie....
I was comfortably watching football on TV when I heard this yell from Bradyn... Dad, the garage door is broken. I went down to inspect the door which was stuck 6 inches off the ground. After making sure that they were not the guilty party, I was looking at the door trying to figure it out. Mr. Macho fix it Dad I am not, but I got lowered another notch, when after I couldn't figure it out, Kamryn said, I know Daddy. That green thing is seperated from the black thing. I was skeptical until I looked up and indeed, the green spring was seperated from the black spring. Broken Spring. Kamryn nailed it. Hmm...
THEN...
Tonight kamryn was taking off her sweater over her head instead of zipping it down. I asked her why she didn't just zip it down. She said it was broken; mommy couldn't even get it down. I said, "Give it to me, I'll fix it." She said, "You won't be able to fix it, mommy can't even fix it." I said, "well, I'll fix it. I can fix anything" Kamryn said, "You can't fix the garage door..." Later she added, "Only God can do that." I felt O.K. with that one...

I just celebrated my 35th birthday, and it was a great day. The highlight had to be little Julia singing her hapa birfday to daddy song. Unbelievably cute and she was knew it too:)
