Packages

This morning we got to open 4 packages from family and friends. It was a blast. After we were done, Julia kept saying over and over again with enthusiasm, "This is sooooo fun!!" Thanks for all the fun treats. It really was fun.

Sweet Sweet Bradyn

Just a quick note to say how proud we are of our Bradyn. She is so good at making new friends and making people feel welcome. Here is a picture of our sweet girl.

Pancakes

Today while I was in the shower Kamryn decided that she would make pancakes. By the time I came into the kitchen she was done with the batter. She didn't use the recipe because she couldn't find it but she did a pretty good job of remembering the ingredients and their amounts just from watching me do it. She did the whole thing, from start to finish. Even the flipping. She had two skillets going and as she was busy flipping and pouring she made the cutest comment..."man, it's sure a lot of work to keep up with your pancakes."
She was soooooooo proud of herself!!! I was proud of her too.

Give 'em about 7 weeks...

When we first arrived the girls enthusiastically greeted the prospects of doing dishes every night... "It is way more fun than having a dishwasher..." Well, reality has bitten hard and a couple of nights ago, Bradyn said something like, "You know it was fun when we first strated but I don't really think it is fun anymore.'

Curiosity may just kill our cat

I had a revelation about Brady the other day... She put some dirt on the dog food. I asked her why and she said, "I don't know." But I kept pressing and she finally admitted after she asked, "Will I get spankings?" that she was curious. Curious. She is the ultimate curious George. It is this same curiousness that leads her to throw dirt on the trampoline, her hand in sticky rice, and throw the little kitty at our dog Zorro. That list doesn't even begin to describe the amount of damage this little girl can do. I am trusting that somehow, sometime this gift of hers will pay off.

I'm her hero.

Yesterday Kamryn and I were jumping on the trampoline. I started doing some jumping karate kicks at her, being silly and you know, being a dad. She asked, "Dad, did you take Karate lessons when you were a boy." I said, "No, I didn't." She said in all seriousness "Wow, you sure do know how to do good karate kicks." I thought that was pretty funny.
